Introduced at the World Ag Expo, Case IH expands its lineup of hay and forage handling equipment with a new large square baler accumulator lineup.
The Case IH accumulators are available in horizontal and vertical models. For horizontal stacking, three-bale accumulators are available in two models: the AC3108 for 3×3 bales and the AC4108 for 4×3 bales. The AC5150 model is a five-bale accumulator. For vertical stacking, the VS1208 stacks three 4-foot-wide bales.
An in-cab monitor allows the operator to see how many bales are on the deck. Bales can either be ejected automatically once capacity is reached or manually.
The accumulators are designed to require no daily maintenance, and they can be paired with closed-center, open-center, and closed-center load sensing hydraulic systems.
“In efforts to save time, money and increase productivity, we continue to see producers looking for ways to streamline their operations,” Brian Spencer, Case IH senior marketing manager said in a prod-uct announcement. “Using an accumulator to pre-package and dump multiple uniform bales helps producers streamline their operation by reducing the number of trips needed across their fields, ulti-mately saving money on fuel, time, and equipment wear and tear.”
New Knotting Feature
Case IH has announced an update to all 2020 model year large square balers—the TwinePro knotter. This feature adds a second loop knot, which improves knot strength by 30%. TwinePro has two ad-vantages in building bales: bale density can be increased using the same twine, or the same bale densi-ty can be formed using lower-strength twine.
Case IH says the new feature has an environmental advantage in eliminating twine off cuts. It’s esti-mated previous models without TwinePro could generate 9,800 feet of twine wasted in cut offs per year.
